My name is Kathy Mok Reichardt. I wear a few hats other than that of a translator: As an entrepreneur myself, I offer valuable expertise in various areas of my clients’ businesses, understanding their needs inside and out. I’m not just a word-replacer. I am a communicator with the cultural sophistication to grasp the complexities of the global business environment. I go the extra mile to render my services in the best interest of my clients’ businesses, standing by them to help them achieve their goals each step of the way. I'm not just a translator: I'm a team player, a partner and a collaborator. When it comes to producing results, I’m an asset to my client’ businesses. Don’t just trust my words. See what my clients have to say.
If you'd like to know more about me, or have a project that you'd like to discuss with me, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Whether you are doing business with Chinese companies, looking to establish sales and manufacturing contacts in China, or inviting investments from Chinese investors, you may be losing a vast number of potential leads if you're not speaking your clients' language. Research has shown that 75% of consumers want products offered in their native language. 30% decidedly assert the statement that gives the research its title: "Can't Read, Won't Buy."
If you want to sell more effectively, I can provide practical assistance to bridge that intercultural communication gap. I am experienced in working with small to medium-sized businesses on translation needs for various aspects of their operation. Combined with my industry expertise and business-oriented insights, my translation will help you reach your leads, potentially converting them into sales much faster and more efficiently.
I provide translation services between English and Chinese in the domains of Business, Marketing, Government/Politics and IT. With 5 years of Chinese translation experience, I have acquired a wide range of skills and knowledge translating the following material:
Late to meetings, inappropriately dressed, heavy accent, indifferent attitude, talking too loudly/softly, talking privately to your customer, not to mention erroneous interpretation – these are nightmares that you will never experience with me.
Described by a client as "professional head to toe", I offer absolutely accent-free interpretation between Chinese and American English. 100% of my clients who have requested my Chinese interpretation services have come back to me for further interpreting needs, because I'm not simply an outsourced interpreter — I am part of your team, paying attention to not only your needs but your clients' needs while maintaining absolute professionalism.
With both extensive experience in consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, I can interpret with accuracy, objectivity and speed for you and your clients, making sure that linguistic nuances are not lost in translation and leading you to a successful transaction.
I provide interpretation services between English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) in the domains of Business, Government/Politics and Education. Over the last 3 years, I have worked on a number of projects including:
To book me for a meeting or to further discuss your Chinese interpretation needs, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
In the 21st century, having a great product alone is not enough to drive sales. Research has shown that 95% of Chinese online consumers indicate a higher degree of comfort level with websites in their language, yet only 1% of US-based online retailers offer sites specific to China.
Also noteworthy is the rapid rise of China’s younger, more technology-savvy middle class, which has created a huge consumer market for international brands. This means that if you can adapt to the Chinese conditions and tap into the Chinese demand by internationalizing your brand, the opportunities of increasing your business revenue will expand exponentially.
Here is where I come into play.
With my copywriting experience for Singapore’s leading financial advisory firm Finexis and my localization experience at an international Fortune 500 IT/consumer electronics company headquartered in Cupertino, CA, I can transcreate and localize content accurately and appropriately so that your customers feel as if you’re a friend rather than just a faceless business when coming into contact with your marketing message.
I am familiar with localization of website content and brochure or leaflets to Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong and Taiwan), Simplified Chinese (PRC) and even “American Chinese” (the localization of Chinese text for the Chinese population located in the United States).
With over 5 years of experience, I can translate, localize and transcreate your marketing and website content such as:
I possess the market insights and cultural business knowledge that will help you avoid costly mistakes. Moreover, I understand the needs of SMEs because I grew up in an entrepreneurial family, and I have already established a credible web business that dominates Google ranking today. For you, this means that I’ve walked in most of your shoes, and I can offer consulting advice to deal with any challenges that you may have in your source text. Striving for the best and going the extra mile for your language needs are simply my work ethics that come with every word that I deliver. Plus, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your translation is being handled by a qualified translator that has been read worldwide.
Having grown up in British Colonial Hong Kong, speaking English and Chinese is technically second nature. And having had a university education in the United States, I have grown to become painstakingly aware of the correct terminology and writing styles used in different locales, including Mainland China, Hong Kong/Macau, Taiwan and U.S. Chinese communities. Unlike many China-based translators, I guarantee that I can deliver a piece of translation geared toward your customers’ native language specific to their locales.

I don’t have an 8-5 schedule. I work with clients from around the world, so time difference is never an issue. I’m always available for rush projects, and I can work around your schedule to help you present what you need to your clients in a bilingual format on time 100% of the time. If for some reason I'm not available, I maintain a database of quality references.
Unlike translation agencies, my regular operation costs consist of a phone bill, transportation costs (for in-person assignments) and the daily cup of hot chocolate. You can be sure that you’re paying for your work and my skillset instead of a company retreat and numerous administrative cost items.

While I have no doubt that some agencies hire top-notch translators and interpreters that can produce high quality results, you may not always have the budget to afford those services. Also, when you hire me, you get my services. Unlike agencies which act as middlemen, I bring up questions as soon as they come up. My translation is also much more consistent over time because I’m not an agency that outsources or crowdsources.
Competition that has the same (if not better) type of skillset and offer similar services at a great price is who I have to worry about. Luckily for me, I haven’t met many of them, and those with similar skillset as me tend to charge a lot more than I do. And based on my research, translators that charge what I charge produce nowhere near the quality of translation that I can.
If you require a particular service that I’m not confident in, I will always be honest and if possible, will recommend to you a colleague who I know is specialized in that area of text.

Most often, the best translator is someone who is passionate about the craft, genuinely fluent in both the source and target languages, intellectually curious with general knowledge plus industry expertise, and can deliver quality translation and interpretation services quickly so that you can get your messages across accurately, coherently and effectively.
I believe I’m that translator you’re looking for.
